In the Name of Allah the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Picture an intense darkness, a soul retching darkness. A middle aged man shivers in the corner; the damp air, the unrecognizable objects looming in the midst of the blackness that surrounds him dare not interrupt him. He’s come seeking answers. Only the solitude of a cave far away from the distractions of men can facilitate him. In that cave a few miles outside of Mecca, the most enlightening event known to mankind occurred. These words were revealed to Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him):
(Al Alaq: 1-5)
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, (1) Createth man from a clot. (2) Read: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, (3) Who teacheth by the pen, (4) Teacheth man that which he knew not. (5)
The power of these words spoken to an otherwise illiterate man is insurmountable. There is no need to explain my love affair with reading, writing, and seeking knowledge. While I am no student of knowledge, the thirst that I have for learning is insatiable. Allah has commanded man many times over in the Qur’an to exercise our minds. To ascertain an understanding of the signs that he’s bestowed upon us. Thus the need for this blog arises.
I would like to invite you all (assuming I have followers) to embark on a journey with me. I’ve decided to use this platform as a means to calling to true Islam and I’m going to need some partners in crime. So are you down?
